Happy Teachers' Day

Wow this blog has been kinda forgotten soon after I started work... Time really flies! If you happen to come visit my blog again, thanks for not forgetting me (& this blog haha), but yes, I'm currently a teacher in a private tuition centre somewhere in the center of Singapore (I was told not to talk about this here). Its been about 4 months that I've been working here, and there were many ups and downs, lessons learnt, memories & new friendships formed. Amazing how things are progressing in office! I believe this blog's gonna be neglected and forgotten very soon... haha yesh working life is super tiring and hectic, and becoming rather mandane, so there's nothing much to update abt...

A Relaxing Labour Day at the Beach :)

We discovered this interesting tree that has a long branch growing sideways, allowing people to sit on it. It was quite fun to be on it. Surprisingly, it could hold the weight of both of us! Many other folks were also sitting on it before us! But the mis-use is to treat this poor tree as a see-saw... We should take better care of our environment!

FYP Poster Day 5th May

It was such a hectic day... Had to reach sch ard 9 plus, stand from 10.30am-12.30pm and 2.30-4.30pm to wait for the examiner to come to my "booth" to hear my presentation.
Thanks to my darling who was with me throughout the day... You're my greatest supporter! haha, even my frens were amazed at your patience for this long and draggy day :p

The examiner was the tallest prof in my sch. Probly abt 1.8-1.9m. I had such great difficulty looking and talking to him. At some point in time I felt my neck felt strained... The presentation went quite ok, but not good enough in my opinion. Expected 2 examiners, but as we do not know who the examiners are, its juz by guessing, so I think I only got one.
Oh how can I forget to mention the joke of the day! Prof Sugrue (who teaches Microbio and Virology) came near to my poster, and since I thought he might be my examiner since mine's on bacteria, so I dashed over to let him see me. And he asked, "Are you Edward?"
I was stunned. I dunno to be angry or sad. lol. You mean you cant tell that I'm a girl? Edward (his poster was on my left) is a GUY!! Omg I told all my frens and they were laughing their heads off. We concluded that maybe Sugrue thought that humans are like viruses with no sex difference.


DnD 8th May

I was rather reluctant to go. But my frens decided to just treat it as a get-together since we'll not be going to a grad trip together. Our table was rather quiet, as usual I guess... This is the first time I attended a dinner and seated at the Halal table (cuz one of my frens is a Muslim). The food was hence, malay-ish and more spicy & oily, not quite to my liking. The prog was rather amusing, to see other people being saboed. Otherwise, it was a rather boring dinner. Oh I had some red wine! Not the first time, but just to make my money worth HA :D

Most of the photos were taken with fren's cameras. Only took a few with my own... This is taken with Prof Lars, Vice-chair of Academic in my sch. I had decided to shoot with him cuz he's one impt person who enabled me to switch course from the TCM double degree to juz focusing on Bioscience even in the second year, and not needing to repeat any of the modules I missed cuz I had enough AUs. Thank God for allowing me to meet him, and that his decision is made according to God's will :) So here I am now, finished my 4 years of uni education, moving on to working life, which will commence in less than 2 days' time! :)

My Poster is Done! =D

Yayz!! I finished designing my poster in 1 day!! Woohoo!! Despite the pulsating headache the moment I woke up, I forced myself to get it over and done with. And thank God, I made it :p miraculously, the supervisor also gave his approval very quickly, almost immediately after I emailed him. Bravo! Now I can rest in peace...

Thankfully somehow there's no dance practice in the end so that I can rest tonight. My appetite is picking up, but the queasy feeling still lingers... I want to be well soon! I want to enjoy my mini holidays! I want to go out instead of staying at home and eating and sleeping and surfing the net... I want the headache to BE GONE!!! GRR... I've never experienced such prolonged headache before... Maybe this is wad people suffer for migraines? God please heal me and darling...

Stomach Flu :S

I woke up in the morning and had diarrhoea :( many runs.... the most irritating part is that when I'm done for 1 round of pooing, the very moment after I washed up, I felt like I needed to poo again... It was so gross... like peeing thru my anus... sorry abt my gross details but this kinda runs really stinks!! and my fever from yesterday hasn't gone down...

My meet-up with Betty had to be postponed cuz I felt too weak to go enjoy Astons. I went to see the doctor and He was sthocked that I told him my sickness (stomach flu), instead of my symptoms (diarrhoea, fever, flu-yest). Haha I was right in the end :) but this is one horrible sickness to have... Thankfully I took the meds and the runs stopped... Darling had his biz law paper in the evening...and I'm so happy that he cabbed over to see me :) I'm really touched :) thanks darling ;p

I SUBMITTED MY THESIS TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

no matter how the results turns out, well, at least i'm proud to say that i SURVIVED...at least till now... Thank God!

the next hurdle is the poster day on 5th may, which still feels quite far... so, i shall celebrate my "graduation" hahaha :D


sadly darling's exams juz started yesterday, so he cant really celebrate & go out with me :( shall count down to 28th apr... & 5th may! =)


i think i really need a long good sleep... the thesis took up so many hours of my sleep this week!

THE EAGLE

Did you know that an eagle knows when a storm is approaching long before it breaks?

The eagle will fly to some high spot and wait for the winds to come. When the storm hits, it sets its wings so that the wind will pick it up and lift it above the storm. While the storm rages below, the eagle is soaring above it.

The eagle does not escape the storm. It simply uses the storm to lift it higher. It rises on the winds that bring the storm.

When the storms of life come upon us - and all of us will experience them - we can rise above them by setting our minds and our belief toward God. The storms do not have to overcome us. We can allow God's power to lift us above them.

God enables us to ride the winds of the storm that bring sickness, tragedy, failure and disappointment in our lives. We can soar above the storm.

Remember, it is not the burdens of life that weigh us down, it is how we handle them.

The Bible says, "Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles." Isaiah 40:31
