My First Encounter with a FLYING cockroach!

yesh... I just encounter my first FLYING cockroach in my life! (I have never seen cockroaches that fly, only those that crawl...)

poor innocent me was just at my study table in hall, clicking away on the internet... then I felt something flew onto my right hand. I turned to look, and to my HORROR, it is a HUGE COCKROACH!!

usually when I see insects of all sorts, like lizards, ants, cockroach, etc, I would dare to look closer, and even marvel at their tiny size & cute-ness. some of my old frens & dearie would know that weird side of me, and always find me ultra strange to remark "cute" when looking at such disgusting creatures.

BUT, today, I totally changed my opinion towards roaches. when I looked at that BIG, ferrociously actively moving brown cockroach, I was super shocked... Fear gripped me as I see its wings flutter. OMG!! I almost screamed, but I realised I managed to remain calm. it started to fly a little, trying to crawl away to corners of my table...

at this hour, my roomie has already turned off the lights and went to bed. so I only had my table lights on. I just had to on the ceiling lights again, actually hoping that I wouldn't wake her, but she woke up. she was also shocked when I told her that there's a cockroach in the room, because the door was shut, windows having the insect-netting, so we had no idea how this pest came charging at my hand just now.

I am very thankful that she woke up to my rescue, becos I definitely dunno how to deal with it. We tried to follow wherever it crawled, and finally... my roomie managed to smack it dead with rolled-up newspapers. Phew! So brave of her!! She even dare to pick up those broken legs on the floor with her bare hands!!! But I felt too disgusted, and gave her a tissue...

I went to "sterilize" my hands with lots of soap... Now I'm still feeling the itch although I am sure it is clean...

Freaking scary encounter in the middle of the night! I can't imagine if I'm alone... thank God for my roomie... should get to know her better, although she's graduating this sem, and I'm not staying in hall anymore (not becos of this encounter lah! haha)

now the room is lights-off again... and my roomie is asleep alrdy... I think I'm still wide awake becos of the near 12 hours sleep last night haha...

my dear,
I think next time I wouldn't be brave enough to "protect" you when we walk past any cockroaches... think got phobia already... I promise never to laugh at you again... (how meanie I was! haha) now I understand your fear of flying cockroaches... it must have been scarier with your past experiences...
all the best for your Maths paper tmr... hope you can do well to score! Jiayou! =)
