yes! today i donated blood for the Red Cross blood donation drive... now feeling happy tat i've done tat... hehe... i actually got the courage to hack care abt my mom scolding me or wad lah... thank God tat mom wasn't angry at me when i called her to tell her only after the donation... but she wasn't angry or anythg, but rather excited and chatted wif me abit.
actually last night yin jie msg me asking me whether wan to go donate blood today or not, but i rmb mom told me b4 tat she won't allow me to donate until i'm 21 yrs old... so i din reply her...
den in the morning after tcm lec, yin jie and serene went to donate. but somehow i went wif them, but juz felt abit scared and unprepared mentally... like got peer pressure, so i 'chickened out'.haha. so i went to sit at the benches to wait for management lec. soon serene came up, and i thot the waiting time so long, but i was quite sad to see her looking quite disappointed becos she can't donate... so i thot why not juz go and try, i might not be able to donate too wad... and i oso felt tat some pple may not be able to donate, so those willing to donate and can donate is actually quite few... i din decide immediately lah, but i did thot of asking ET whether he wants to go donate tmr. but surprisingly, he asked me if i wanted to go after lec... haha so coincidental! ya... and so we went.
there's quite a no. of pple there alrdy and i'm the last few. in fact i was the last one to get on a chair. haha becos i wanted to do it on my left hand... the prick to test blood was abit painful, more painful than last time when i pricked each other to do my SRP project in TJ. the next painful thg was during the pain-killer injection. i dare not look at the needle. it looks rather thick. the collection process was quite fast becos i kept squeezing the stress ball, and each squeeze there's visible increase in quantity of blood in the bag. but later i felt pins and needles on my hand and told the nurse, waiting for her tell me if anything is wrong. but she took awhile to respond, but she responded wif a laugh!!! wahahaha.... she must have thot tat i meant i've got a needle on my hand and joked wif her tat there's pins there too! LOL!!! oh my gosh tat was the 1st funny thg. den after enough blood was collected, another nurse came to remove the needle and bandage, and she took a GREEN bandage!!! so i quickly told her i din want the green colour. so she walked away, took another type of plastic and sticked it on for me and she said it was done. i looked at her wif a blank face, knowing tat she must haf thot i dun wan the fanciful bandage, but wif my look on the face, she went to get a short ORANGE fanciful plastic wif smiley faces, and anyhow anyhow wrapped up the area. hahaha... i fet abit bad cos all of them rushing to clear up and pack up, but i still like waiting for my bandage. lol.
then there was a guy who passed out during the donation i think. they put him to a lying down position wif legs slightly alleviated. as i looked ard the place, i felt abit curious at wad are the chemicals they use and techniques practised. haha. esp the blue solution used to test whether u r suitable to donate or not. oso, generally there're more guys than girls donating blood.
i was rather hungry while donating blood, but feeling abit tired after the thg. i think i looked pale, and think its juz physciological tat my heart rhythm is quite strange. body feeling abit weak, and uncomfortable wif my ugly bandage. haha.
well, it is a gd experience, so i'd encourage pple to try donating blood if u haven't tried b4! its not painful really... only an ant bite. haha.
ok, back to get some rest and catch up wif my work...
(oh ya! today is 3/8 woman's day! hehe ;p)
