“first”
wadever we do, there’s bound to be a first time. And today there are a few first-times…
First up, I went for the Chinese service in expo for the first time. Also first time attending Chinese congregation for the first time. I was determined to accompany mom to the Chinese congregation, in hope that she can better understand. She has been accompanying me for the English services all along…
I was feeling quite uneasy about some things, like am I able to sing those Chinese worship songs, meaning them from my heart and praise God in my usual way? Am I able to understand the sermon, which is about the Holy Spirit? Am I able to experience God?
Praise God that He removed all my uneasiness. I was able to sing most of the worship songs although I have not heard some of them before. Thank God that for the past 1.5years I’m still in touch with Chinese becos of the nature of my TCM course which is in Chinese. The presence of God is strong regardless of which service I went. How true is God’s word that “where two or three are gathered in His name, there He is in the midst of us”. I’ve also learnt that we worship God with our hearts, so the language and style doesn’t really matter. The sermon is very understandable and I get to start building myself up in knowledge of God in Chinese. I’m so eager to go for the Chinese service for this entire series of sermon on the Holy Spirit!
Today, I also feel so satisfied with being able to cook a simple meal. Haha. Its juz spaghetti to be precise, and in case u misunderstand that I cooked a 10 course meal. Haha. Well, that is my aim for the next 10 years. Lol. Anyway, I got quite sian of eating outside food and mom lazy to cook, so decided to exercise my itchy hands. Spaghetti is super easy lah. juz buy the ready-made sauce, added some canned button mushrooms, cook the spaghetti, boil some broccoli. Simple and quite healthy. But sadly my mom only used to eating Chinese cuisine, so she doesn’t really like it. Haha recently super interested to cook, becos somehow got this housewife instinct, [oh no sound so auntie!!!] plus wanna experiment in spore and learn how to cook some edible food before I go Beijing in two years’ time. Haha thats also provided I survive till then. Anyone is welcome to volunteer to be my tester. hopefully my skills can be improved till the day when i cook for someone special...
Kk I think I’m really nonsense to be doing all these stuff in the midst of exams. But they’re really great ways to de-stress. [also found out jogging is also a great way to de-stress, even though since young I really dread running] Anyway, so far two papers down and two more and I’ll be done. Cant wait for it to end and very soon it’ll be Xmas!!! Woohoo!!!
Ok shall go back to my books again…
